Abundance and composition analysis of dinoflagellates in Mayangan and Binor Coastal Area, Probolinggo, East Java, Indonesia

Abstract Dinoflagellates are one of the phytoplankton groups that an important role as primary producers in waters. However, very abundant conditions (blooming) it can be dangerous for ecosystems and aquatic biota. This study aims to determine composition abundance harmful dinoflagellates environmental factors influence presence coastal area Mayangan Binor, Probolinggo Regency, East Java. The method used this is a survey by determining sample point purposive sampling. research was conducted March 2022. result showed waters 255 – 1511 cells/mL consisting 10 genera namely Alexandrium, Ceratium, Dinophysis, Gambierdiscus, Glenodinium, Gymnodinium, Ostreopsis, Peridinium, Phyrodinium, Prorocentrum . Binor 716 2536 Amphydinium, Bysmatrum, Cochlodinium, Protoperidinium , Scrippsiella highest genus Ceratium 18% 21%. has no potential blooming, but dinoflagellate still endanger because produce toxins. influenced such salinity, nitrate, phosphate.
